How to Remember Everything you Learn

The best way to remember something forever is to remind it to you 4 times at specific intervals. The best moment to remind you something is when you are about to forget it.

As a rule of thumb, it means you will need a reminder:

  1. after 3 days
  2. after 10 days
  3. after 30 days
  4. after 60 days

This phenomenon is called the Spacing Effect. According to the Spacing Effect entry on Wikipedia:

The spacing effect refers fact that humans more easily remember items in a list when they are studied a few times over a long period of time ("spaced presentation"), rather than studied repeatedly in a short period time ("massed presentation").
